How to verify a TechieFrogs certificate

For employers: check any certificate against our records in about ten seconds, without contacting us. Here is what the check proves, and — just as usefully — what it does not.

If a candidate has put a TechieFrogs certificate on their CV, you can confirm it yourself right now. No email, no account, no waiting for someone in admissions to reply.

Go to techiefrogs.com/verify and enter the certificate ID printed on the document. You will get the holder's name, the programme, the issue date, and whether the certificate is currently valid.

That is the whole process. The rest of this post is about what the result means, because a verification service that does not explain its own scope is not much use to the person relying on it.

What the check proves

That we issued it, to that person, for that programme, on that date. The record comes from our own database, not from a PDF the candidate supplied, so a forged or edited document fails immediately.

That the programme was completed in full. This is the part worth knowing, because it is where our certificates differ from many. We issue only when every lesson is complete and every quiz is passed. Not on payment. Not on attendance. Not on "substantial completion". A candidate holding a valid certificate finished the actual course.

That it has not been revoked. Certificates can be withdrawn — for confirmed plagiarism in graded work, for example. Verification reflects the current state, not the state on the day it was printed.

What it does not prove

We would rather say this than let you over-read the result.

It is not a statement about seniority. It says someone completed a structured programme to our standard. Our standard is a real one and we are proud of it, but it is a training standard, not a claim about years of experience.

It is not a substitute for a technical interview. Please still do one. A certificate is a filter, not a decision.

It says nothing about the specific work you would be hiring for. For that, ask for the portfolio — which is the more useful artefact anyway, and which we encourage every learner to build.

A certificate answers "did this person do what they said they did". That is a narrower question than "should I hire them", and conflating the two is the mistake that made certificates worth so little across this industry in the first place.

Why we built it this way

The credential problem in Indian tech hiring is not that certificates are rare. It is that they are unverifiable, so they carry almost no information — and a signal nobody can check gets ignored, which punishes honest candidates most.

There were two ways to fix it. Ask employers to email us, which means our response time becomes the candidate's problem and effectively nobody checks. Or make it public and instant, so checking costs less than not checking.

We chose the second, with a consequence we accepted deliberately: it means we can never quietly issue a certificate to someone who did not earn it. The check is public, so the standard has to hold. That constraint is the feature.

Where the ID comes from

It is on the certificate itself, and the learner can also produce it from their portal at any time. If a candidate cannot produce a certificate ID, treat the claim as unverified.

If a check returns nothing, the likeliest explanation is a typo — the IDs are long. After that: the certificate was not issued by us, or it has been revoked. You are welcome to contact us if something looks wrong, and we will tell you what we can without disclosing anything about a person that they have not chosen to share with you.

A note on what we can share

We will confirm what is on the certificate. We will not, without the learner's consent, tell you their attendance record, their scores, their readiness band, or anything else in their file. That is their data, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act is clear about it — see our Privacy Policy.

If you want more than the certificate, the right route is to ask the candidate. Most will happily share a portfolio and their readiness detail; some will share the mentor's written feedback on their graded projects, which is more informative than anything we could tell you second-hand.

If you hire junior developers

Our first cohorts are still in training, so we are not going to claim a placement record we do not have. What we can offer now is early access to candidates who arrive with verifiable certificates, deployed work you can open, and a published readiness formula you can read and judge for yourself.

If that is useful, talk to us. No pitch deck, no obligation, and we will tell you plainly when we do not have someone who fits.
